When I don’t know,
How can I best pray for you?
Dear Shiney Reader,
I don’t know what you are up against. Nor do I understand how you’re feeling today. Nor can I fathom the decisions you must make before tomorrow. I truly have no idea. Nor do I have a clue who might stop by this post and spend a few minutes realizing these are God’s kind words for them in this very moment.
This time of prayer was the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as I read and dug into this scripture in Colossians 1:9-11. God sees you. He knows you. And He wants you to look up and experience His loving presence.
So, how can I best pray for you?
First, I can lift your name before our heavenly Father knowing He cares for you. And I can pray asking Him to fill you with the knowledge of His will and to give you a supernatural spiritual wisdom and understanding so that you are able to walk in a manner worthy of the LORD. As you seek the Lord’s face and look in His word for guidance, you will be guided into all truth by the power of His Holy Spirit.
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.
Colossians 1:9-11 ESV
As you seek the Lord’s guidance in prayer and in His word you will find that He is fully pleased with you, and as you remain in Him by faith, you will bear fruit and increase in the knowledge of God in relationship with Him.
I can pray and I am praying for you as you read this, that you may be strengthened with all power according to God’s glorious might with all endurance and patience with joy.
May you receive this prayer and actively participate in the process of seeking the Lord for wisdom and understanding. There’s no magic formula to the words; rather, this is an invitation to make this your own prayer, as a launching pad for your active response.
I know from my own relationship and experience with Jesus that He is faithful and He will not disappoint you. You will find Him trustworthy and true. He may not give you what you want or lead you to continue on your current path, but He will draw you to His side and take you where you are safest… in His care and His perfect will.
Dear Shiney Reader, please pray with me now.
Father, I lift this dear creation to You now at Your Throne of Grace asking that Your child be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that he/she will walk in a manner worthy of You, the LORD, our God, fully pleasing to You. I ask Lord Jesus that this dear Reader will bear fruit in every good work and increase in the knowledge of You, holy Father, as they grow deeper in love and relationship with You.
Lord Jesus, strengthen us with Your power, according to Your glorious might, so that we may live with all endurance and bear the fruit of patience and joy!
Lord Jesus, we agree in Your name. Your will be done and all for Your glory. Amen. And amen.
